Joanne Brumm, LCSW
Joanne earned her BS in Education from SUNY Fredonia and her MSW from Greater Rochester Collaborative Masters in Social Work, at SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College. Joanne is a certified Journal to the Self journaling instructor and has facilitated support groups at Gilda’s Club of Rochester where she provided assistance to individuals, families, and children whose lives had been touched by cancer. In addition, Joanne has worked with Lifetime Care as a children’s grief support facilitator.
As an educator, Joanne gained invaluable experience working with children, families and fellow educators to meet the cognitive, emotional, and social needs of students. Her work within the educational system provides Joanne with unique insight into working with families, school systems, and the CSE process.
Joanne utilizes many modalities in her work with clients, striving to tailor her approach to her clients’ needs, learning styles, and strengths; including, among other things, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, trauma-focused, psycho-educational, creative art, and play therapy techniques.
